About

Stroud Area Regional Tennis Association (SARTA) is a non-profit 501(c) 3, membership-based Community Tennis Association started by a group of tennis enthusiasts in 2011.

We are an organization seeking to ensure that professional instruction, programming for all ages and skills, recreational and competitive leagues, USTA tournaments, social events, special programming and training are available to all in the community.

Our vision is to construct an all-access, public indoor and outdoor tennis facility in the region to service the community and its members that acts as a training/recreation center for all men, women, and children of all ages.

Board members are:

Ted Butz, Mike Frailey, Tony Drago, Ed Kuschner, Pat Breigel, Christie Bower, Marti Willis, and Isidoros Skarlis.

Objectives

  • Promote the growth of tennis as a means of healthful recreation and physical fitness in the Stroud Area/Monroe County PA region.
  • Develop participation of residents in the sport of tennis.
  • Support and promote youth tennis/quickstart programming.
  • Support current and new startup USTA teams and competitions.
  • Promote good sportsmanship in all tennis pursuits above.
  • Work with Stroud Region Open Space and other public entities to raise funds to maintain and develop public tennis courts.
  • Cooperate with the United States Tennis Association and other associations in pursuit of these aims.
