What is SARTA?

A group of tennis enthusiasts have been meeting for over a year and have formed a non-profit foundation/association called SARTA, (Stroud Area Regional Tennis Association). The ultimate goal of the group is to construct an indoor and outdoor tennis facility in the region to service the community and its members. Our vision is to have this be a training/recreation center for men, women, and children of all ages. Below are some of the objectives that we have discussed and have become the basis for our mission.

OBJECTIVES

  • Promote the growth of tennis as a means of healthful recreation and physical fitness in the Stroud Area/Monroe County PA region.
  • Develop participation of residents in the sport of tennis.
  • Support and promote youth tennis/quickstart programming.
  • Support current and new startup USTA teams and competitions.
  • Promote good sportsmanship in all tennis pursuits above.
  • Work with Stroud Region Open Space and other public entities to raise funds to maintain and develop public tennis courts.
  • Cooperate with the United States Tennis Association and other associations in pursuit of these aims.
