Recent SARTA News – SARTA Mission Statement

“Now might be the greatest chance this community has to building an indoor tennis facility so get excited and be involved to make the opportunity a reality!”

Thank you to all you 65 people who came to the SARTA Social on Tuesday night at the Hideaway and to those of you who missed out, it was a great time!  The social brought together tennis players in the community and updated all on the latest news. SARTA renewed 27 memberships and issued 27 new memberships for individuals or families at the social. Lucky raffle prize winners took home a US Open poster, court time at Winning Touch Tennis and free lessons by some of the best tennis coaches around!

What do we know?

  • SARTA is negotiating an agreement with Bill Kurtain, owner/operator of 2 successful “Winning Touch Tennis” indoor facilities in PA and NJ, to partner with us and manage the operations for our indoor tennis facility.  He wants to join our team!
  • SARTA is partnering with a non-profit entity in land conservation to attempt to purchase and have donated to us a piece of property with a building on it within 3 miles of Stroudsburg.

What don’t you know?

  • “Winning Touch Tennis” in the Lehigh Valley was just named the “Club of the Year” for the USTA’s Eastern PA Division.  Don’t we want that a club of that distinction in the Pocono’s?

What do we need?

  • More SARTA members
  • $15,000 in funds in the bank account to pay for appraisals, consultant and miscellaneous expenses.  **we raised $860 at the social but we need more!
  • Volunteers to help with fundraising,  grants, building, property, membership, outreach, public relations, social media, programming

This club does not happen without your participation and financial support!

SARTA is a non-profit community tennis association (CTA) dedicated to growing the sport of tennis as a means of healthy recreation and physical fitness in the Stroud and surrounding regions, with the goal of building an indoor/outdoor tennis facility to increase instructional, social and competitive tennis year around.
